Role Objective:

To ensure seamless, safe, and efficient crew transport operations at Indigo’s new airport locations by managing vendor relationships, leveraging automation tools, maintaining high safety standards, and generating actionable MIS reports. The role demands operational agility, tech-savviness, and strong stakeholder coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Transport Operations Management

  • Oversee end-to-end crew transport operations including scheduling, dispatching, routing, and real-time tracking.
  • Ensure punctual and reliable pick-up/drop-off of crew members between airport, residences, and hotels.
  • Coordinate with crew scheduling and rostering teams to align transport plans with flight operations.

2. Vendor Management

  • Manage multiple transport vendors under contractual agreements.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and audits of vendors based on KPIs such as punctuality, vehicle condition, driver behavior, and compliance.
  • Negotiate service terms, resolve disputes, and ensure adherence to Indigo’s operational standards.

3. Automation & Technology Integration

  • Implement and manage transport automation tools (e.g., GPS tracking, Dashboard cameras, crew transport apps, automated dispatch systems).
  • Collaborate with IT and operations teams to enhance digital workflows and reduce manual dependencies.
  • Monitor dashboards for real-time transport status and exception handling.

4. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all vehicles and drivers comply with Indigo’s safety protocols and regulatory norms (RTO, PVC, etc.).
  • Conduct periodic safety drills, vehicle inspections, and driver training sessions.
  • Maintain documentation for audits, insurance, and incident reporting.

5. MIS & Reporting

  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports covering transport utilization, cost analysis, vendor performance, and incident logs.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Present insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.

6. Stakeholder Coordination

  • Act as the primary point of contact for crew members regarding transport-related queries and escalations.
  • Liaise with airport operations, HR, and finance teams for smooth coordination and budget alignment.
  • Support onboarding of new crew members with transport orientation.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate in any discipline; preference for candidates with specialization in logistics, transport management, or aviation operations.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in transport/logistics operations, preferably in aviation, hospitality, or fleet management.
  • Strong understanding of transport automation tools and MIS systems.
  • Excellent vendor management, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and transport management software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ideal candidate must be staying in near proximity of the airport.
